ST. MARY'S SECOND COLLECTIONS

St. Mary's and the Diocese of Salt Lake City is committed to helping those in need throughout our country and the world. We do this through second collections in support of worthy causes. When you make a donation around certain dates, your gift will be put towards helping differing parts of the Body of Christ.

FOR LATIN AMERICA
January 15 - February 8, 2025

Promoting solidarity throughout the hemisphere by providing support for pastoral projects in Latin America and the Caribbean through contributions to an annual collection.

FOR CHURCH IN CENTRAL AND EASTERN EUROPE
February 9, - March 7, 2025

Rebuilding the pastoral capacity of the Church and restoring the faith in 28 countries of the region through contributions to an annual collection.

FOR BLACK AND INDIAN MISSIONS (U.S.)
March 8 - March 21, 2025

The Black and Indian Mission Office is comprised of three distinct but inter-related organizations, each with its own purpose and history, but all seeking to fulfill the one Mission to the Missions! Founded by the Catholic bishops of the United States, each organization cooperates with local diocesan communities to spread the Good News of Jesus Christ and respond to real and pressing needs on the ground.

Catholic Relief Services carries out the commitment of the Bishops of the United States to assist the poor and vulnerable overseas.

Strengthening the Church at Home by supporting essential pastoral programs in financially challenged dioceses and eparchies in the United States through the annual Catholic Home Missions Appeal.

FOR THE COMMUNICATION CAMPAIGN
May 17 - June 13, 2025

The Catholic Communication Campaign helps the Church spread the Gospel message in the U.S. and in developing countries using modern media tools to inform, inspire, and enlighten.

FOR PETER'S PENCE
June 14 - June 27, 2025

Support the Holy Father's mission, which extends throughout the entire world, from the proclamation of the Gospel to the promotion of integral human development, education, peace, and brotherhood among peoples.

FOR PASTORAL SOLIDARITY FOR CHURCH IN AFRICA
June 28 - July 25, 2025

Assisting the growing Church in Africa with support for social justice, evangelization, catechetical, and institutional development programs through the Solidarity Fund for the Church in Africa.

FOR RELIGIOUS RETIREMENT
July 26 - August 22,, 2025

The office coordinates the annual national appeal for the Retirement Fund for Religious and distributes financial assistance to eligible religious institutes in the United States to care for their elderly and frail members now and in the future.

The Pontifical Mission Societies serve the Church’s universality as a global network of support for the Pope in his missionary commitment by prayer, the soul of mission, and charitable offerings from Christians throughout the world.

Working to break the cycle of poverty by helping low-income people participate in decisions that affect their lives, families, and communities.

Since 1945, Catholic Community Services of Utah has been empowering people in need along the Wasatch Front to reach self-sufficiency. By giving strength to the vulnerable in our midst, CCS is able to lovingly serve and provide hope to those with the greatest need in our community regardless of race, religion or personal circumstance.
