RECOMMITMENT TO GIVE FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

WHAT IS THE RECOMMITMENT TO GIVE?

The Recommitment to Give is St. Mary’s annual offertory pledge program. It is an opportunity for you to prayerfully commit to a generous 12-month pledge of support to the regular offertory collection (general fund). The Recommitment to Give is the major source of funding for all of St. Mary’s ministries, events, community and charitable outreach, campus beautification, and building maintenance.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A PLEDGE TO THE RECOMMITMENT TO GIVE AND WHAT I GIVE TO THE REGULAR OFFERTORY COLLECTION AT MASS?

Nothing. Your Recommitment to Give pledge is a pledge of what you plan to give to the regular offertory collection over the next 12 months. It’s an opportunity for you each year to prayerfully consider how you can give the first and best of your treasure to Christ, how you can recommit yourself to God’s mission for St. Mary’s.

WHY AM I ASKED TO MAKE A PLEDGE?

By prayerfuly planning out your giving through a pledge, you are able to properly discern how you can give to Christ the first and best of your treasure now. Simply put, extensive data shows that when parishioners make a pledge, they are more generous and knowledgeable about how much they give. Even if you already give automatically through your bank account or credit card, the parish asks you to please make a pledge, to prayerfully consider how you can best give back currently.

Furthermore, by knowing what you intend to give over the next twelve months, St. Mary’s can better plan how to utilize its resources, being good stewards of the blessings God has entrusted to the parish. However, your pledge is not a contract. It is not legally binding. If your personal circumstances change, you can adjust your pledge by contacting St. Mary’s.

HOW CAN I FULFILL MY PLEDGE?

1. Automatic Giving or Gifts of Stock
   The easiest way to make your pledge is just to sign up for (on increase your) automatic giving through your bank account or card now. You can also now fulfill your pledge through gifts of stock online!
   
   
2. IRA or DAF Gifts
   If you’d like to fulfill your gift through a charitable distribution through you IRA or through Donor Advised Funds, please contact Killian Beeler at kbeeler@StMarysParkCity.com.
   
3. One-time Lump-Sum Check Gift
   To make a one-time lump-sum gift through check, please make your check out to "St. Mary's Church" and include "Recommitment to Give" in the memo line. You can mail your check to: St. Mary's Church, 1505 White Pine Canyon Road, Park City, UT 84060. Or you can place your check in the donation stand in the gathering space of St. Mary's Church.
