st. mary's church
1505 white pine canyon rd, park city
St. Mary's Church is a landmark of Park City’s entry corridor – its lofty design and incredible setting is complemented by wonderful views of the mountains from within the church and parish center. Open daily to visit, the Church offers to thousands of parishioners and visitors the sacraments, a beautiful and peaceful place to pray, and a sanctuary to grow and serve.
The Church building and Parish Center are a beacon of the greater community, utilized by Park City's best charitable programs, and host to beautiful artistic events, such as the regular performances by the Utah Symphony.
The interior of the Church features a number of unique pieces of artistic history. For instance, special Triptychs carved by Bolesław Parasion depict the Scriptural Stations of the Cross, prayers composed by Pope St. John Paul II.
The window behind the Confession room depicting St. John the Evangelist was a masterpiece crafted by Frank Newman (Neumann) in New York. The window's construction started in 1930 and was featured in the New York World Fair, after which was kept in possession by the Neumann family. It is with heartfelt gratitude that we thank Norbert and Mary Jean Neumann of Salt Lake City who were instrumental in having the family donate the window to St. Mary's.
The painting of Our Lady of Guadalupe was replicated by the famed Mexican artist Aurora Lopez Diaz. The beautiful replica was commissioned by early pioneers of Deer Valley, Pia and Tomaso Lozano. Mr. and Mrs. Lozano have donated this painting to St. Mary's and the Hispanic Community.
