ST. MARY'S CHARITABLE ASSISTANCE PROGRAM MISSION STATEMENT
Since 1881, St. Mary's has sought to bring to these mountain the gift of charity for all those in need. For decades it has helped lead the way in providing assistance and opportunities for the Wasatch Back's underserved. And during the recent pandemic, St. Mary's immediately stepped into action, providing hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of direct assistance to hundreds of unemployed local families.
Today, the mission of Saint Mary's Charitable Assistance Program is to provide essential support for households through comprehensive charitable assistance. These services include financial assistance to prevent evictions, interventions during crises, legal referrals, and collaboration with community-based organizations to help those with disabilities and mental health diagnoses experiencing homelessness. Our approach is rooted in the principles of Housing First, which prioritize securing stable housing for individuals as the first step towards recovery and stability.
A key aspect of our charitable assistance program is that it is available to anyone in the community experiencing hardship, regardless of religious affiliation. This inclusive approach ensures that we can support a wide range of individuals and families, promoting overall community well-being.
We are grateful to the Park City Community Foundation for a recent grant in support of our Charitable Housing Assistance program. For more information about PCCF, please visit their website here.
